Description:

The Senior Accountant will maintain and update accounting records and files.
This role involves posting transactions and categorizing records in the general ledger, such as by assets, liabilities, and expenses.
The accountant will reconcile bank and credit card statements and intercompany balances on a monthly basis.
Responsibilities include conducting month-end and year-end closures.
The position requires preparing monthly journal entries and performance reports, explaining variances.
The accountant will prepare and provide documentation for quarterly sales tax returns and annual income tax returns.
Managing all invoicing and statement reconciliation is a key duty.
The Senior Accountant will assist the Manager with annual financial audits, including developing audit schedules and ensuring required documentation is prepared in a timely manner while interacting with auditors.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the accountant will work to improve financial processes.
The role also involves assisting the Accounting Manager with preparing financial statements, budgets, and reports for management.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required for this position.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in corporate accounting, including financial reporting and general ledger maintenance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, particularly with spreadsheets, is necessary.
Experience using QuickBooks Online is required.
Technical accounting knowledge to ensure compliance with US GAAP is a plus but not mandatory.
