Description:

Roofstock is seeking an experienced Senior AI Engineer to join their AI Engineering team focused on GenAI infrastructure and applications.
The role involves delivering on Roofstock's GenAI strategy by providing infrastructure for other teams and building innovative solutions.
Responsibilities include working with a distributed engineering team, cultivating high standards for communication and quality, architecting and implementing GenAI solutions, and ensuring task transparency and organization.
The engineer will partner with technical leaders to refine the GenAI strategy and help colleagues navigate ambiguity in a growing startup environment.
Staying updated on emerging technologies and conducting code reviews to maintain high code quality are also key responsibilities.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience building applications as an engineer.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
Experience in building AI applications, particularly GenAI based utilizing Agents, RAG, and LLMs, is essential.
Proficiency in building applications using AWS infrastructure is necessary.
Strong experience with Java, Python, distributed systems design (microservices), and data assets is required.
Candidates should be able to articulate technical challenges and solutions effectively.
A deep understanding of processes and the ability to iterate within a high-performing team is important.
Proficiency with VCS (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Change Management (JIRA) is required.
Flexibility to apply software best practices to non-deterministic solutions is necessary.
Fluency in English is required, and candidates must be independent engineers, not part of an agency.
