Description:
We are searching for a Senior AI Engineer to support a partner project at Shapeshifter.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a hit franchise with over 10 million players worldwide.
As a senior member of the team, you will help design architecture, implement quality software for multiple systems, and influence our processes and practices to continually raise our quality bar.
Your skills in software development, debugging, design, and documenting engineering practices will be critical to your success.
You will tackle complex software engineering problems, lead by example, and support other engineers through teamwork and mentorship in our shared goal of creating an amazing product.
Core responsibilities include writing, maintaining, and optimizing production-quality C++ code, designing and building large foundational software systems, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver quality software solutions.
You will apply your knowledge and critical thinking skills to the production of our games and provide mentorship to other developers.
Additionally, you will participate in shaping team-wide development practices and standards to help the team deliver high-quality work.
Requirements:
Game AI subject matter experience is required.
You must have working experience with traditional AI techniques, including sensors and behaviors.
Familiarity with navigation challenges encountered by NPCs is necessary.
You should have experience working with AI in a networked environment.
Proficiency in C++ and software development methodologies is essential.
Previous experience developing your own code as well as adapting and improving existing code is required.
You must be skilled at long-range planning of software systems.
A self-starter attitude with the ability to make progress in the face of ambiguity is necessary, along with appropriate use of consultation, requirements gathering, and planning.
Effective communication across disciplines is required.
You should have shipped or heavily participated in the development of software in Unreal Engine.
