Description:

The Senior Android Developer position is fully remote, based in Palo Alto, CA, requiring a one-hour overlap from 8 AM to 6 PM Pacific Time.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, averaging 8 hours per day.
The role involves designing and developing navigation applications on the Android OS.
Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product and UI/UX design teams, to define application features.
The developer will identify potential problems and resolve application bottlenecks for performance optimizations.
Triage, debug, and fix application issues before final release is also part of the job.
The position requires performing code reviews and practicing continuous integration and development.
Writing test code to ensure quality, robustness, and functional correctness, including edge cases, is essential.
The developer will design and implement subsequent application updates and releases.
There is an emphasis on continual learning through workshops, conferences, and talks.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required, with a Master's degree preferred.
The candidate must have proven experience as an Android app developer with at least 5 years of experience.
Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and C++ is necessary.
The ability to manage workload with minimal supervision is required.
Proficiency in using Android and Android Jetpack APIs, including knowledge of Android NDK and JNI, is essential.
Knowledge of Android design principles and application interface guidelines is required.
Familiarity with Android’s performance and testing framework is necessary.
The candidate should have familiarity with embedded Android framework services.
Excellent coding and proofreading skills are required.
Familiarity with best-in-class software development practices is necessary.
Knowledge and experience with Jetpack libraries are required.
Proficiency in code versioning tools, including Git and Bitbucket, is necessary.
