Description:
Gorilla Logic is seeking a multidisciplinary Senior Android Developer with exceptional mobile development skills to join an Agile team.
The role involves building and maintaining web and mobile applications for clients while collaborating with iOS and Web teams.
Responsibilities include designing and developing new user-facing features, maintaining existing features, and improving test, build, and release pipelines.
The developer will partner with other platform teams to ensure feature parity and a consistent user experience across platforms.
The position requires curiosity about other platforms and contributions when necessary.
Collaboration with engineering, product, design, and data teams is essential for executing cross-functional initiatives.
The developer will provide input on core architectural decisions and drive implementation.
Staying updated on developments in the Android ecosystem and raising improvement opportunities is expected.
Promoting a written-first culture that values documentation, tech specs, how-to's, and post-mortems is important.
The role includes communicating best practices and platform updates to product engineers and fostering their adoption.
Peer code reviews and providing constructive feedback are part of the responsibilities.
Conducting technical interviews is also required.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
A minimum of 5 years of native Android app development experience is necessary.
Proficiency in Kotlin, Dagger, RxJava, Compose, Espresso, and Git is required.
Familiarity with Android build tooling such as Gradle and Proguard is essential.
A good understanding of the Android SDK is required.
The candidate should prioritize writing maintainable code and creating a strong testing culture.
Experience with CI/CD tooling like Buildkite, Fastlane, or Docker is necessary.
Good communication, written, and collaboration skills are required.
Experience with Agile methodologies, including Kanban and SCRUM, is essential.
The candidate should demonstrate strong ownership, a positive attitude, organization, and self-drive.
Curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies are important traits.
