Description:
The New York Times is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join the mobile team responsible for developing multiplayer Games.
The role involves collaborating with native mobile engineers, backend engineers, QA, product, project, data, and design teams.
The Android apps are written in Kotlin, backend APIs in Go, and web front ends use React.
The team focuses on product development and offers a suite of puzzles including popular titles like the NYT Crossword, Spelling Bee, and Wordle.
The position can be based in New York City or fully remote within the US.
Requirements:
Must have 5+ years of full-time experience as an Android Engineer.
Proficiency in building robust user interfaces with complex animations and user interactions.
At least 2 years of experience with Kotlin, including unit tests, networking, data persistence, and UI development.
Demonstrated understanding of modern Android technologies like Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Dagger, and Room.
Ability to translate product goals into quality shippable code.
