Description:
The Senior Android Engineer position at Square E-Commerce in Seattle, WA, involves enabling merchants to expand their online business through mobile devices.
The role includes working on Square Online and Payment Links to help merchants create online stores, manage sales, and accept payments within Square mobile apps.
Responsibilities also include developing Square Photo Studio, a mobile app for creating professional product photos with AI enhancements.
The team is focused on enhancing the Square Online mobile experience with real-time business insights, channel management tools, and AI-powered suggestions.
The position involves collaborating with various teams at Square to integrate online and in-store sales seamlessly on the platform.
You will be working on a mix of native Android technologies like OkHttp, Retrofit, Dagger, and custom Android OS across Square mobile apps, Weebly app, and Square hardware devices.
Building a first-class website editor using a combination of native and web technologies is also part of the role.
Collaboration with AI, backend, web, and iOS engineers to ship features with a focus on quality and craft is essential.
Working closely with product managers and designers to define and establish product scope and design is a key aspect of the position.
Requirements:
8+ years of relevant experience in Android engineering design & implementation using Kotlin and Java.
Experience with unidirectional data flow and declarative UI frameworks such as Jetpack Compose and Workflow.
Willingness to collaborate across team boundaries and disciplines to deliver exceptional solutions to merchants.
Interest in shaping the mission and roadmap of a team and inspiring others to join in.
