Remote Senior API Engineer

Description:

• The Senior API Engineer position at Kontakt.io involves working with business, product, and engineering teams to prototype, design, implement, test, and support new features related to a platform that collects, processes, and analyzes real-time location and electronic health record data at scale.
• The role includes exposing insights and structured access to data streams for other applications to consume and build user-facing products via APIs.
• The engineer will be part of a small, cross-functional team responsible for product development from design to support.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience developing backend systems and APIs using Python or Golang.
• 2+ years of experience in project management for scoping, planning, and tracking progress of software projects.
• 4+ years of experience designing and implementing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• 2+ years of experience mentoring other engineers on software development best practices.
• 2+ years of experience with writing and maintaining infrastructure as code for backend services.
• 2+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting software systems dealing with sensitive data.
• 1+ year of experience as a member of an on-call rotation for production systems.
• Ability and willingness to build rough prototypes/demos with backend and frontend components for validating product and engineering ideas.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
