Description:
PhotoRoom is seeking a Senior API Engineer with experience in building public web APIs, specifically using Node.js and TypeScript.
The role involves designing and developing the public API product, which is utilized by various companies to integrate PhotoRoom's technology into their applications.
Responsibilities include collaborating with the product team to prioritize and implement impactful features, ensuring the robustness of existing features, minimizing downtime, and maintaining high-quality documentation.
The engineer will receive fast feedback from API users and will iterate quickly, with updates occurring several times a week based on API usage.
The position is remote-friendly, allowing work from anywhere in Europe, with monthly reimbursements for travel to Paris.
The company offers substantial relocation support, including up to €10,000 for finding an apartment and visa assistance.
The team is multicultural, consisting of around 80 passionate individuals.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in designing and implementing APIs for external partners.
A thorough understanding of the OpenAPI standard is required.
Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript is essential.
The ideal candidate should be pragmatic, favoring speed of iteration over perfection, and should leverage frameworks and libraries effectively.
A strong sense of ownership and collaboration is necessary, with the ability to make product and technical decisions while working with the product team.
Candidates should have a deep understanding of API reliability, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of uptime, performance, and consistency.
Experience in a fast-growing startup environment is preferred.
Bonus points for experience in image editing pipelines and creating integrations for APIs.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is not necessary.
