Description:
The Senior Application Security Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is responsible for application and cloud infrastructure security.
This role involves collaborating with software development teams to enhance secure software development life cycle (SDLC) efforts.
The engineer will work in a DevOps environment to secure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and codebase from development to production.
Responsibilities include vulnerability management, threat intelligence, automation, and DevSecOps implementation.
The role also involves administering cybersecurity tools, maintaining knowledge of industry trends, and providing technical consulting to ensure secure applications and platforms.
The engineer will analyze and recommend security controls, promote cybersecurity awareness, and contribute to a culture of cybersecurity at CFS.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Relevant certification in the Cybersecurity field (CISSP preferred).
5 years of experience in a hands-on application security focused role.
Experience securing IaaS (AWS) and cloud-native applications in a DevOps environment.
Ability to apply fundamental cybersecurity and IT concepts, work in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize tasks/projects.
Proficiency in DevSecOps/automation of security tasks, analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and continuous learning focus.
