Description:
The Senior AWS Solution Architect will provide leadership and subject-matter expertise to development teams that build cloud-native solutions on AWS.
The architect will develop solution prototypes to demonstrate the suitability and interoperability of chosen components and establish patterns for adoption by development team members.
Responsibilities include designing and engineering 100% AWS cloud-native application components and writing high-quality, efficient code in Python and JavaScript without guidance.
The architect will provide ongoing guidance and coaching to development team members and conduct code reviews, offering feedback on implementation patterns.
The role requires capturing implementation patterns into development standards and architecture best practices as needed.
Requirements:
The candidate must have a background in large-system application development and design, with proven experience in the design, development, and implementation of cloud application components.
The position is not intended for cloud Infrastructure or DevOps architects.
The architect should be able to explain the process of analyzing alternatives during the design of the solution and the reasoning for selecting specific services over other alternatives.
Proficiency with object-oriented design principles and software design patterns is required.
Proficiency with object-oriented programming languages, particularly Python, Java, and/or JavaScript is necessary.
Development and deployment experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is required, including technologies such as Glue, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CodeCommit, EC2, SNS, SQS, KMS, VPC, and IAM.
Experience with document markups (JSON, XML), document data stores, and REST API endpoints for data retrieval and update is needed.
Familiarity with container software and application management, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is expected.
Exposure to relational databases and SQL, as well as Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), Jenkins, and GIT is required.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and/or Scrum is preferred.
Strong critical thinking, analytical reasoning, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
The candidate must have experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Adherence to federal, state, and organizational policies that safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is required.
A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution is mandatory.
