Description:
Coalfire is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join a highly-collaborative engineering team that offers a unique blend of engineering solutions.
The role involves serving as the cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) to clients within design, architecture, and deployment engagements in AWS, Azure, or GCP using automated orchestration and configuration management techniques.
The engineer will provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior team members.
Responsibilities include partnering with leading Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and enterprises to meet security goals and facilitate digital transformation and modernization.
The position requires designing and implementing security solutions using tools such as Tenable, Trend Micro, AquaSec, Microsoft Defender, and Burp Suite.
The engineer will coordinate with clients and team members to identify the right balance of defense-in-depth techniques to translate customer goals into secure and effective solutions.
Engagement in designing and implementing secure and compliant enterprise servers, network infrastructure, boundary protection, and cloud architectures using Infrastructure-as-Code is expected.
The role involves working across various technology stacks in leading cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and GCP, and researching how to utilize native services in deployments.
Support for the security assessment and authorization process is also part of the job.
The engineer will be responsible for authoring and peer reviewing detailed design documentation, including security documentation and vendor best practices.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of directly relevant systems engineering and architecture experience, including requirements definition, architecture development, and systems integration & test.
A minimum of 5+ years of experience supporting cloud architecture, design, implementation, operations, and automation in AWS, Azure, or GCP is required.
Applicants should have 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and orchestration/automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP platform capabilities and services is necessary, with roles such as Cloud Architect, Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Cloud Security Engineer being relevant.
Experience working within technical teams of 3+ individuals in an Agile environment is essential.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.
Effective documentation skills, including technical diagrams and written descriptions, are necessary.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing leadership with a professional attitude and demeanor.
Critical thinking skills and the ability to balance security requirements with mission needs are important.
The ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately in a dynamic environment is required.
A BS or above in a related Information Technology field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is mandatory.
