Description:
Excella is seeking a Senior Azure FinOps Cloud Engineer to enhance cloud cost management practices and implement cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions.
The role requires expertise in optimizing cloud systems according to the Azure Well-Architected Framework, focusing on cost optimization, performance efficiency, operational excellence, security, and reliability.
Responsibilities include identifying cost-saving opportunities, creating dashboards for cloud cost visibility, defining resource tagging best practices, providing technical consulting, managing FinOps projects, and performing financial/data analysis.
Requirements:
Candidates must have solid knowledge of cloud architecture strategies that balance cost effectiveness and performance.
Experience with cloud cost management tools such as Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, or Google Cloud Billing is required.
Leadership experience as a subject-matter expert in cloud solutions within an Agile environment is essential.
Proficiency in generating and interpreting cost reports and understanding key financial metrics is necessary.
Candidates should have experience in setting up cost control mechanisms and governance policies to prevent cloud overspending.
A minimum of 3 years of experience with Azure cloud platforms in a technical, operational, or financial role is required.
Proficiency with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or Terraform) for resource management is necessary.
Familiarity with FinOps principles and cloud financial management practices is required.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams are essential.
Experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau for creating cost visualization dashboards is required.
Preferred qualifications include Azure or FinOps certifications and knowledge of financial forecasting, budgeting, and accounting practices related to cloud services.
