Description:
Astronomer is seeking a Senior Back End Engineer to work on their Developer Experience initiative, focusing on managing Apache Airflow at scale.
The role involves contributing to the design, development, and vision of onboarding experiences and developer tools like Cloud IDE and Cloud CLI.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and enhance platform usability, reliability, and scalability.
The position requires continuous evaluation and improvement of the platform's architecture and implementation to deliver exceptional value to customers.
Requirements:
Must have experience with Golang and APIs, with a strong focus on building performant, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
5+ years of engineering experience is required, along with the ability to communicate technical concepts through architectural diagrams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as experience in fast-paced startup environments and software development best practices.
Bonus qualifications include experience with Python, Kubernetes, SaaS platforms, Postgres or other relational databases, APIs for git providers, and building developer tools like IDEs or CLIs.
Benefits:
The estimated salary for this role ranges from $175,000 - $200,000, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package.
