Description:

  • Deel is seeking a Senior Back-End Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating worldwide hiring processes for businesses.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to contribute to product planning, development, and deployment stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Responsibilities include developing new features, API’s, improving products, and ensuring a top-notch customer experience.
  • The ideal candidate should have expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS), and serverless app architecture on AWS.
  • With at least 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer, the candidate should be able to provide guidance on best practices and be a thought leader in the field.
  • Desired qualities include excelling in application design, coding, testing, and maintenance, thriving in a remote-first work culture, embracing independence, taking ownership of projects, and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Additional brownie points for experience with SaaS products on major cloud vendors, working in distributed teams, and knowledge of FinTech.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript syntax.
  • Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS), and serverless app architecture on AWS.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Ability to advise on best practices and be a thought leader in the field.
  • Excellent design, coding, testing, and maintenance skills.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, remote-first work culture.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Passion for solving customer problems and delivering high-value outcomes.
