Remote Senior Back-End Engineer (Node.js / TypeScript)

Description:

• Deel is seeking a Senior Back-End Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating global hiring processes.
• The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to contribute to product planning, development, and deployment stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Responsibilities include developing new features, API’s, improving products, and ensuring a top-notch customer experience.
• The ideal candidate should have expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS), and serverless app architecture on AWS.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer is required, along with the ability to provide guidance on best practices and be a thought leader in the field.
• The role requires designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications, thriving in a collaborative, remote-first work culture, embracing independence, taking ownership of projects, and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript syntax.
• Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS), and serverless app architecture on AWS.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Ability to advise on best practices and be a thought leader in the field.
• Experience in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote-first work culture.
