Description:

  • Deel is seeking a Senior Back-End Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating global hiring processes for businesses.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA's to develop new features, APIs, and enhance existing products.
  • Responsibilities include participating in product planning from discovery to deployment, providing input throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, and ensuring a top-notch customer experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS), and serverless app architecture on AWS.
  • The position requires a minimum of 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer and the ability to offer advice on best practices and be a thought leader in the field.
  • Desired qualities include excelling in application design, coding, testing, and maintenance, thriving in a collaborative remote-first work culture, embracing independence while excelling in a team setting, and effectively communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • The role also involves taking a business-focused approach to software development, demonstrating genuine care for customers, and delivering high-value outcomes.
  • Additional brownie points are awarded for experience with SaaS products on major cloud vendors, working in distributed teams, and knowledge of FinTech.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript syntax.
  • In-depth understanding of SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS), and serverless app architecture on AWS.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Ability to advise on best practices and be a thought leader in the field.
