Remote Senior Back End Software Engineer, Platform Infrastructure

Description:

• Seesaw is seeking a Senior Back End Software Engineer to join the Core Platform team, which is responsible for the fundamental infrastructure and service libraries that drive the company's success.
• The role involves taking ownership of large-scale projects that underpin the entire platform and driving the strategic direction for core infrastructure.
• The engineer will collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure the robustness, scalability, and security of globally distributed systems.
• Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing critical infrastructure components, ensuring they meet high standards for scalability, security, and performance.
• The engineer will partner with product managers and stakeholders to align infrastructure development with business objectives and create efficient back-end systems for rapid user-centric feature development.
• The position requires ensuring the security and reliability of Seesaw's platform by proactively identifying vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks.
• The engineer will lead initiatives for infrastructure regionalization to support international growth and optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-effectiveness.
• The role also involves utilizing back-end development expertise in Python, DynamoDB, and ElasticSearch to drive technical excellence and innovation.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in a back-end/infrastructure Software Engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and AWS (or another Cloud provider) is essential.
• Candidates should have strong Computer Science fundamentals and direct experience designing, developing, and maintaining software at scale.
• Comfort working within complex systems and the ability to write readable, maintainable, and well-documented code is necessary.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Bonus credit will be given for experience in AppSec and/or InfraSec and infra-as-code development experience.

Benefits:

• The annual base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $185,000, plus RSUs.
