As a Senior Backend API Engineer, you will develop Xayn’s privacy-first Legal AI solution, focusing on building scalable and high-performance backend services.
You will work closely with AI researchers and engineers to implement advanced features and optimize system performance.
The Tech team consists of around 10 individuals who work either remotely or at the office in Berlin city center.
The hiring manager, Simon, has over 15 years of experience in software development and advocates for product-driven development.

Requirements:

You must have a valid working permission in the EU.
Fluency in English is required.
Strong proficiency in Rust and Python is essential, with at least 2 years of experience in Rust, including API development using Tokio and OpenAPI standards.
Expertise in backend development is necessary, including database integration with PostgreSQL, Docker containerization, and security practices such as OAuth and secure coding.
A solid understanding of system architecture is required, with experience in microservices, scalable deployments using Kubernetes, and network architecture fundamentals.
Strong problem-solving and algorithmic skills are needed, with a focus on clean code and performance optimization.
A test-driven development mindset is essential, with proven experience in extending Python projects and ensuring type-safe coding practices while collaborating within cross-functional teams.
