Remote Senior Backend Developer

Description:

• Mighty Fine Apps is a fast-growing company dedicated to creating innovative apps for the deaf and hard of hearing community.
• The company is embarking on a green field project to build a new backend and account system for their flagship product, Live Transcribe.
• The Senior Backend Developer will spearhead the development of the new backend infrastructure for Live Transcribe.
• The primary focus of the role will be designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs, including high-throughput real-time endpoints.
• Strong backend skills are essential, and experience in iOS or front-end web development is considered a bonus.
• The company prefers Node.js and Express but is open to other proven backend technologies.

Requirements:

• The candidate must have 3+ years of experience in backend development with a proven track record in building scalable APIs and systems.
• Strong experience with Node.js and Express (or equivalent backend frameworks) is required, along with a deep understanding of RESTful API design.
• Solid experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, and strong database design principles are necessary.
• Familiarity with cloud-based deployment, monitoring, and scaling solutions, preferably AWS or similar platforms, is essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team are required.
• Bonus skills include experience in iOS development (Swift, SwiftUI, etc.) and front-end web development experience.
