Remote Senior Backend Developer (Billing team)

Description:

• AppFollow is an App reputation automation platform aimed at easing the everyday routines of app developers, product managers, marketing teams, and customer support.
• The Senior Backend Developer (Billing team) will enhance AppFollow's billing systems to ensure seamless financial operations for international customers.
• The role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing the core billing infrastructure to help companies manage their financial interactions effectively.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining the billing functionality of the AppFollow platform, including integrations with Stripe and other payment systems.
• The developer will ensure efficient handling of legacy billing systems and work to modernize and optimize them.
• Collaboration with the team is essential to understand and maintain complex financial systems and processes.
• The role requires working closely with cross-functional teams to align the billing system with business goals and customer needs.
• The developer will design and implement solutions for invoicing, subscription management, and transaction tracking.
• Debugging, testing, and troubleshooting billing features to ensure accuracy and compliance is a key responsibility.
• The developer will ensure the scalability and security of the billing infrastructure and write and maintain technical documentation.
• System architecture design and collaboration with other developers to implement an efficient, scalable, and secure billing architecture is required.
• Deployment and monitoring configuration using tools and infrastructure from the Platform team is also part of the role.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of software development experience.
• Expertise in integrating with payment platforms, particularly Stripe, is required.
• Proficiency in Python with experience in asyncio and FastAPI (or similar frameworks for API development) is necessary.
• Strong SQL skills, particularly with MySQL, and a solid understanding of PostgreSQL are essential.
• Experience with ORM (preferably SQLAlchemy) and message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ) is required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex challenges are necessary.
• A business mindset with a focus on delivering solutions that align with financial and operational objectives is important.
• Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English and Russian, are required.
• It is a plus to have 2+ years of experience in large fintech or billing systems.
