The backend API development team is looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Python) to work remotely outside of Denmark.
The role involves working on critical APIs for authentication, authorization, and business logic for users, studios, and games.
The team utilizes a modern development stack including Python 3, MySQL, Terraform, and ECS/Fargate, along with cloud technologies like AWS and GCP.
The developer will be involved in planning, designing, and developing new product offerings, ensuring timely and informed decision-making.
Responsibilities include taking ownership of APIs, managing AWS resources, maintaining code quality through reviews, and collaborating with other teams.
The role also includes training and supporting the hiring of new team members.
Requirements:
Essential: Excellent understanding of Python or another backend language (Java, Erlang, Elixir, Golang, Ruby) with some Python experience.
Essential: Strong knowledge of API development, including best practices and performance implications.
Essential: A minimum of 3 years of experience in building and managing production systems.
Essential: Experience with SQL and RDBMS concepts, preferably with MySQL or PostgreSQL on large projects.
Essential: Ability to write high-quality, maintainable code and embrace complexity only when necessary.
Essential: Familiarity with modern development life cycles, including automated testing and deployment.
Essential: Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Essential: Experience developing software in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
Desirable: A degree in computer science or equivalent.
Desirable: Knowledge of FastAPI, Flask, or other Python API frameworks.
Desirable: Familiarity with SQLAlchemy or other ORM frameworks.
Desirable: Experience with infrastructure-as-code systems like Terraform or Ansible.
Desirable: Experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate).
Desirable: Comfort working in a Linux environment.
Desirable: Interest in other programming languages besides Python.
Desirable: Experience with authentication/authorization protocols such as OAuth2.
Desirable: Interest in project management and software development methodologies.
Desirable: Passion for video games and the gaming industry.
