Description:
Frequence is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their cross-functional Agile development teams.
The role involves owning the design and implementation of medium to large features, driving system improvements, and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities include collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality, scalable, enterprise-level software systems and influencing the technical direction of the team.
The engineer will take ownership of design, development, and implementation of features, ensuring alignment with business and system goals.
The position requires demonstrating systems thinking by architecting and designing entire systems and leading technology improvements and architectural changes.
The engineer will ensure code quality through thorough code reviews and mentoring, while also leading process improvements and streamlining engineering practices.
Troubleshooting and debugging complex issues in production systems, optimizing for performance, scalability, and reliability are key tasks.
Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to their technical growth while fostering a collaborative team culture is essential.
The engineer will drive results and alignment with leadership on key team goals, business metrics, and execution strategies.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
A minimum of 5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software engineering with a proven track record of delivering complex software systems is necessary.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Go, C#, Java, Kotlin, Rust) is required, along with broad experience in solving problems and building systems.
Experience in delivering SaaS software and a strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle is essential.
Expertise in software design patterns, systems architecture, and API development (including REST or gRPC) is required.
A deep understanding of secure development principles and experience implementing security best practices is necessary.
Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, along with a solid grasp of data modeling and performance optimization techniques, is required.
The ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal guidance while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams is essential.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive and productive team culture, are required.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are necessary.
