Remote Senior Backend Engineer

Description:

• Join Checkly as a Senior Backend Engineer and contribute to the Monitoring as Code (MaC) movement.
• Work in a remote-first startup environment focused on enabling developers to detect and resolve issues faster with code-first synthetic monitoring.
• Monitor APIs and apps at a lower cost compared to legacy providers using a Monitoring as Code workflow and Playwright.
• Deploy approximately 20 times per day to production.
• Technologies used include Vue, Node.js, Postgres, AWS, and ClickHouse.
• Process around 4000 API and Browser checks per minute.
• Embrace an async-first approach with minimal meetings and small, mixed teams of developers, product, and design.
• Have over 1,000 paying customers challenging the team daily.
• Offer onboarding plans for new team members.
• Focus on building a diverse team with a flexible, remote-first, and async-first startup environment.

Requirements:

• Deep experience in building applications in a professional product (SaaS) environment, preferably with JavaScript/Node.js.
• Desire to have business impact and work in a startup environment with experienced founders.
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated in a remote work setting.
• Quick learner who enjoys picking up new technologies.
• Passion for software development.
• Located in UTC-3 to UTC+3 time zones.
