Remote Senior Backend Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer position at our company involves designing, building, and maintaining APIs, services, data pipelines, and systems across the engineering team.
• Responsibilities include building new features on a large scale, improving internal tooling and processes, and working on product and technical roadmaps.
• The role also entails improving the scalability, reliability, and performance of Sardine's infrastructure, managing and operating the infrastructure with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code.
• Additionally, the position involves designing, building, and maintaining automated deployment and monitoring processes to increase the engineering team's velocity.
• The engineer will design automated fault detection infrastructure and systems that run 24x7 with minimal downtime, automate operational tasks, proactively identify and address risks, and launch new capabilities and products for customers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field, with a minimum of three (3) years of experience.
• Proficiency in using Google Cloud Platform and Terraform, Java and Spring Framework, Javascript and NodeJS, messaging frameworks (e.g., ActiveMQ, Artemis), and Infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Experience in creating product and technical roadmaps, preparing low-level design documents, developing monitoring frameworks, and distributed systems software design.
• Knowledge of computer architecture, storage, IO subsystems, object-relational mapping technologies, diagnosing and fixing issues in production code, and database management.
