Remote Senior Backend Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer will play a key role in the buildout and enhancement of LeafLink’s systems, contributing to the development of new and existing products.
• They will be involved in a large-scale platform overhaul to solidify LeafLink's position as a technical leader in the industry.
• Responsibilities include making critical software design decisions, developing new systems for credit and liquidity provision in the cannabis industry, and advocating for the inclusion of modern technologies in products.
• The engineer will collaborate with agile teams to deliver end-to-end products, troubleshoot and resolve issues, provide technical guidance, and uphold high engineering standards.
• They will work on industry-leading API tools, mentor team members, and address technical debt promptly.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced software environment focusing on API services, supporting systems, and 3rd party vendor integrations.
• Proficiency in Python, modern web frameworks, relational databases, ORMs, queueing systems, event-driven architecture, and unit testing.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git), containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), and software security best practices.
• Experience in FinTech or related industries is advantageous.
• Active participation in the open-source and New York tech community is a plus.
• Interest in the cannabis industry and/or LeafLink brand is desirable.
