Description:
The Senior Backend Engineer will play a key role in the buildout and enhancement of LeafLink’s systems, contributing to the development of new and existing products.
They will be involved in a large-scale platform overhaul to solidify LeafLink's position as a technical leader in the industry.
Responsibilities include making critical software design decisions, developing new systems for credit and liquidity provision in the cannabis industry, and advocating for the inclusion of modern technologies in products.
The engineer will collaborate with agile teams to deliver end-to-end products, troubleshoot and resolve issues, provide technical guidance, and uphold high engineering standards.
They will work on industry-leading API tools, mentor team members, and address technical debt promptly.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in a fast-paced software environment focusing on API services, supporting systems, and 3rd party vendor integrations.
Proficiency in Python, modern web frameworks, relational databases, ORMs, queueing systems, event-driven architecture, and unit testing.
Familiarity with version control systems (Git), containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), and software security best practices.
Experience in FinTech or related industries is advantageous.
Active participation in the open-source and New York tech community is a plus.
Interest in the cannabis industry and/or LeafLink brand is desirable.
