Remote Senior Backend Engineer

Description:

• BriteCore is seeking a Senior Python Backend Engineer to join a passionate, agile development team.
• The role involves designing and building applications that scale and support the BriteCore platform.
• You will lead in modernizing the feature and technology stack, working with Python, Django, JavaScript, JQuery, and VUE JS.
• Collaboration with senior engineers, team leads, and product experts is essential in this high visibility role.
• Responsibilities include influencing engineering decisions, maintaining and evolving software architecture, and partnering with product management to create user-friendly features.
• The position requires engagement in an Agile environment using Scrum practices, automated unit testing, continuous integration, and code reviews.
• You will write and maintain unit tests, proactively raise issues impacting delivery, solve complex production issues, and tackle system performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.
• Staying current with development best practices and sharing findings with the team is also expected.
• This is a fully remote role, but candidates must be located in Argentina, Brazil, or Colombia, and it is a long-term Independent Contractor position.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
• Candidates must have 4+ years of enterprise-level experience in Python web development and coding in Python.
• 4+ years of professional experience working with MySQL or other SQL databases is necessary.
• Experience in building APIs for 4+ years is required.
• Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in enterprise-level SaaS product development built on the cloud.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Django or another popular Python framework is essential.
• 2+ years of experience developing in frontend frameworks such as React or VUE JS is required.
• 2+ years of experience with Docker for containerizing applications is necessary.
• 1+ year of experience building large-scale enterprise applications is required.
• 1+ year of enterprise-level experience with AWS services like EC2, API Gateway, and Lambdas is necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
