The position is for a Senior Backend Engineer located in Germany, Spain, or Romania, and is remote.
The Senior Backend Engineer will be part of the Customer Experience Platform (CXP) team, working directly with the Product Manager and other stakeholders to deliver new features through APIs and data services.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and operating data-intensive backend services, participating in architectural decisions, planning and designing software, engaging with the product team, co-creating the vision for the future, and mentoring others.
Requirements:
Candidates must have more than 10 years of total experience, with at least 4 years focused on backend development using Python web frameworks.
A solid understanding of Python 3 is required.
Candidates should have a solid understanding of relational and non-relational database systems, preferably PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch.
Experience in developing scalable data-intensive Web APIs is necessary.
Experience with microservices architecture and asynchronous communications using Kafka is required.
A DevOps mindset and good knowledge of SRE tools and techniques are essential.
Excellent teamwork skills, clear communication, flexibility, openness to debate, and the ability to mentor other team members are required.
An agile mindset to deliver great products with an iterative approach is necessary.
Fluency in English is required.
Ideally, candidates should have experience making architectural choices with detailed trade-off analysis, a deep focus on automation for testing and deployment, strong alignment with business goals, and previous experience with FastAPI.
