Description:

The Senior Backend Engineer position at #paid involves writing production-ready code that is performance optimized, easily testable, and understood by other developers, while accounting for edge cases and errors.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the role requires working on personal growth and objectives in collaboration with the team.
Responsibilities include defining the roadmap for features and tools with Product Managers and Software Developers, communicating clearly with the team through productivity tools like Slack, Notion, and GitHub, and championing documentation and knowledge sharing.
The position also involves contributing to the design of scalable software platforms with a focus on performance and security, analyzing and troubleshooting production issues, assisting Junior developers when necessary, and contributing to documentation, functional specifications, design documents, and architecture diagrams.

Requirements:

Proven history of excelling in a team-based, collaborative environment.
Experience designing and documenting APIs using Node.js, Fastify, and OpenAPI Spec.
Senior-level knowledge of back-end development with Node.js.
Senior-level knowledge of database engines such as PostgreSQL and Redis.
Experience in building scalable production services and monitoring performance using GCP Monitoring Tools.
Ability to review code and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Must live and work within 3 hours of Eastern Standard Time.
