Description:
The position is for a Senior Backend Engineer, which can be performed remotely or in a hybrid model if located in the UK.
The company focuses on enhancing customer experience for major brands by utilizing a Customer Experience Intelligence (CXI) platform that analyzes customer feedback.
The role involves developing new features for the app, improving existing APIs, and collaborating with product managers and designers.
Responsibilities include assisting the Customer Experience team with bug triaging, sharing knowledge of web technologies, participating in peer code reviews, and being involved in all development stages from design to monitoring.
The engineer will work within a multi-functional team to exceed customer expectations.
Requirements:
Candidates must have strong experience working with Ruby.
A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, design patterns, and solid principles is required.
Proficiency with PostgreSQL and knowledge of SQL vs. NoSQL databases is necessary.
Experience with asynchronous messaging patterns and practical knowledge of RabbitMQ, Kafka, or GCP PubSub is needed.
Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch is required.
Candidates should be able to choose appropriate caching strategies and have practical experience with Redis.
An understanding of 12-factor app principles and cloud-native application requirements is essential.
Practical experience with Kubernetes and the ability to write specifications for Kubernetes objects is required.
Experience in identifying and resolving bottlenecks in complex distributed systems, as well as conducting load and disaster recovery testing, is necessary.
Candidates should have experience in designing and building applications using microservice architecture.
