The Senior Backend Engineer will be a critical member of the Calm Engineering Team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems for mobile and web applications.
The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, defining project scope, and developing technical specifications.
The engineer will lead the development and implementation of complex backend features and services, ensuring smooth development and deployment processes.
Responsibilities include writing high-quality, well-documented code, ensuring high test coverage, implementing monitoring for system errors, and staying updated on backend technologies.
The position also involves mentoring and training software engineers.

Requirements:

A minimum of 8 years of related experience is typically required for this role.
A BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is necessary.
Experience with Javascript/Typescript, GoLang, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS/GCP/GKE, and relational databases/SQL is required.
Proven experience in REST API-based microservices design and working effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment is essential.
Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies and tackle challenging problems.
Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests in a CI/CD environment is required.
Excellent communication skills are necessary to convey technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines, and work under pressure is crucial.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $154,900 - $241,200, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
