Description:
Webflow is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Access Control team, focusing on permission systems and secure software development.
The team is responsible for the Roles & Permissions framework used by all of Engineering to manage user access to resources within the webflow.com application.
The role is remote-first, available to candidates in the United States and parts of Canada, and is a full-time, permanent position.
The cash compensation is based on geographic location, experience, and skills, with specific pay zones outlined for the U.S. and Canada.
Responsibilities include architecting, designing, and implementing scalable multi-tenant backend services and APIs using technologies such as Node.js, Javascript/Typescript, MongoDB, GraphQL, and AWS.
The engineer will lead projects, produce high-quality code, collaborate with product managers and designers, mentor junior engineers, and participate in engineering citizenship activities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in developing and deploying web applications with a proven track record of shipping code.
Familiarity with Node.js and TypeScript is required, along with the ability to write scalable services and APIs using technologies like Express.js and MongoDB.
Experience in debugging production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack is necessary.
Proven experience in building complex web systems and familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Playwright, or Cypress is essential.
Candidates should be comfortable working in an agile environment that encourages safe-to-fail practices.
