Description:
Webflow is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Access Control team, which is responsible for building and maintaining the Roles & Permissions framework for the webflow.com application.
The role is remote-first, available to candidates in the United States and parts of Canada.
This is a full-time, permanent, exempt position.
The cash compensation is tailored to align with geographic labor costs, with specific pay zones defined for different locations.
The Senior Backend Engineer will report to the Senior Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities include architecting, designing, and implementing scalable multi-tenant backend services and APIs.
The engineer will work with technologies such as Node.js, Javascript/Typescript, MongoDB, GraphQL, Apollo, AWS EC2, S3, Lambdas, and Kafka.
The role involves leading projects, producing high-quality code, authoring design documents, and collaborating with product managers and designers.
Mentoring junior engineers and participating in engineering citizenship activities are also key aspects of the role.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience developing and deploying web applications, with a proven track record of shipping code.
Familiarity with Node.js and TypeScript is required, along with the ability to write scalable services and APIs using technologies like Express.js and MongoDB.
Applicants should be able to debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
Proven experience in building complex web systems is necessary.
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Playwright, and Cypress is required.
Candidates should be comfortable working in an agile, safe-to-fail environment.
