Description:

  • Webflow is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Access Control team, which is responsible for building and maintaining the Roles & Permissions framework for the webflow.com application.
  • The role is remote-first, available to candidates in the United States and parts of Canada.
  • This is a full-time, permanent, exempt position.
  • The cash compensation is tailored to align with geographic labor costs, with specific pay zones defined for different locations.
  • The Senior Backend Engineer will report to the Senior Engineering Manager.
  • Responsibilities include architecting, designing, and implementing scalable multi-tenant backend services and APIs.
  • The engineer will work with technologies such as Node.js, Javascript/Typescript, MongoDB, GraphQL, Apollo, AWS EC2, S3, Lambdas, and Kafka.
  • The role involves leading projects, producing high-quality code, authoring design documents, and collaborating with product managers and designers.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and participating in engineering citizenship activities are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of experience developing and deploying web applications, with a proven track record of shipping code.
  • Familiarity with Node.js and TypeScript is required, along with the ability to write scalable services and APIs using technologies like Express.js and MongoDB.
  • Applicants should be able to debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
  • Proven experience in building complex web systems is necessary.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Playwright, and Cypress is required.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in an agile, safe-to-fail environment.
