Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Backcountry

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer will be responsible for building scalable services to support new features and products for the onX suite of apps.
• They will write unit, integration, and acceptance tests and participate in architectural decisions involving services.
• Collaboration with team members and stakeholders is essential, as well as leading by example and embodying company values.
• Leveraging and extending existing onX services and participating in an on-call schedule to support backend services after work hours are part of the role.
• The position can be performed from an onX corporate office, "Basecamp," or "Connection Hub."

Requirements:

• Minimum of eight (8) years of professional software development experience, with a focus on API development for at least three (3) years.
• Experience in building and debugging distributed, scalable microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in evaluating technologies based on merit, stability, performance, and debugging ability.
• Strong knowledge of modern API and systems design and development, with a solid computer science foundation.
• Advocacy for customer experience, willingness to mentor junior engineers, and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Proficient in writing high-quality code, taking ownership, and getting tasks done.
