Remote Senior Backend Engineer, Core Services

Description:

• Join ClickUp as a Senior Backend Engineer in the Core Services team to design and deliver scalable distributed shared services for other engineering teams.
• Incorporate customer feedback into API tooling and services.
• Collaborate with various teams to create new architectural foundations and mission-critical distributed systems.
• Work in an agile scrum-based engineering team under the Senior Manager of Core Services.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction in all tasks.
• Advocate for API governance and ensure collaboration, automation, and outreach.
• Manage integration within the API Gateway layer and API lifecycles.
• Identify and implement improvements in critical shared services.
• Contribute to growing the infrastructure engineering organization's shared services to accelerate product development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong understanding of API standards, design approaches, and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with CAP Theorem and distributed systems design patterns.
• Proficiency in TypeScript.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Understanding of developer experience in all built solutions.
• Desirable: Pragmatic approach to software design, development, and delivery.
• Experience with Kafka and related event-based patterns.
• Experience with designing Backend for Frontend (BFF) patterns.
