Remote Senior Backend Engineer

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of production experience working with Django and Django Rest Framework (DRF), building scalable, reliable APIs and backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of efficient system design principles, including database optimization, API performance, and architectural patterns for scalability and reliability is required.
• A solid foundation in GNU/Linux systems, shell scripting, and understanding of network protocols, security, and troubleshooting is necessary.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including services like GKE, CloudSQL, and Cloud Run, focusing on deployment, scaling, and monitoring production systems is essential.
• Proficiency in writing and maintaining tests (unit, integration) using frameworks like pytest or Django Test Client to ensure robust and maintainable code is required.
• Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), including schema design, query optimization, and migrations is necessary; familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and experience implementing API authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, JWT) is required.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for working in cross-functional teams with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers are essential.
• The ability to create clear, comprehensive, and consistent documentation for APIs, workflows, and system architecture is necessary.
