Description:

Calendly is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Engineering team, which focuses on innovation to enhance customer experience.
The role involves supporting features and architecture to maintain user confidence in Calendly.
The platform is transitioning from a monolith to various services to scale effectively, and the engineer will contribute to this growth.
Responsibilities include building new features, scaling the platform, creating tooling and automation, and working with technologies like Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, Rails, NodeJS, React, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
Daily tasks involve collaborating with the team on high-impact features, contributing to platform scaling, meeting with Product and Design teams, attending agile ceremonies, improving engineering practices, reviewing implementation plans, and mentoring team members.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of Software Development experience at a SaaS or technology company.
Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and a Monolith to Services architectural rebuild is required.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems are essential.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to drive innovation and propose solutions that align with organizational goals.
Adaptability to new technologies and changing requirements is necessary.
A commitment to writing clean, reliable, and maintainable code is expected.
Availability for on-call rotation is required to respond to business-critical alerts outside regular hours.
