Description:
As a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Platform team at Postscript, you will enrich the Postscript product with cross-domain data services and integration.
The Data Platform team focuses on data integration through various sources like the production application, ecommerce platforms like Shopify, and various 3rd party ecommerce integrations.
You will design and build end-to-end data pipeline solutions, including data ingestion, propagation, persistence, and service development to support both the product and the internal BI organization.
This role is critical in ensuring data and events are reliable and actionable throughout the Postscript Platform and is crucial in advancing product-driven AI efforts.
Primary duties include designing and building performant and scalable distributed data systems, writing high-quality code, building services to support the product with cross-domain data, designing and maintaining 3rd party integrations, and mentoring fellow engineers through code and design reviews.
Requirements:
You must have several years (5+) of experience writing high-quality production code in both Go and Python.
You should have designed and built complex distributed systems and possess strong opinions on their design.
Experience in building data-intensive software solutions in an AWS environment is required, along with working knowledge of several AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, and Elasticache.
A broad range of experience with data persistence technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, OLAP) is necessary, along with the ability to select the right tool for the job.
You should have experience working in event-driven systems and familiarity with technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, and RabbitMQ.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure and using infrastructure as code technologies like Terraform is expected.
You must be comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy digging into problems as much as creating solutions.
Staying abreast of new technologies and looking to incorporate them into the stack is essential.
