Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Databases, Tempo

Description:

• This is a remote position for a Senior Backend Engineer focused on databases, specifically for Tempo, an open-source distributed tracing backend.

• You will lead projects from concept to implementation, including ongoing customer support.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have solid experience with at least one programming language; familiarity with Go, Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar languages is acceptable.
• Some experience in delivering projects from gathering requirements to shipping a product in a self-driven manner is required.
• Candidates should have experience developing software that runs in the Cloud or experience with systems engineering.
• Experience in writing clean, robust, and performant software that is easily maintained by others is necessary.
• Nice to have: Experience working with Kubernetes, being a user of Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles, exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems, and familiarity with being on-call or performing operations/SRE tasks.
