Description:

This is a remote position for candidates located in Spain.
The role involves working with Tempo, an open-source distributed tracing backend developed by Grafana Labs.
Responsibilities include collaborating with the team to deliver new features, analyzing outcomes, and making improvements.
The candidate will lead projects from concept to implementation, including ongoing customer support.
The role requires designing, building, operating, and maintaining essential systems to ensure reliability, performance, and availability.
The candidate will participate in on-call rotations and take responsibility for the services they oversee.
The position involves supporting and mentoring team members, engaging in design conversations, and working closely with colleagues.
The candidate is expected to expand their skillset by deepening their knowledge of cloud products, understanding customers, and learning about the codebase.

Requirements:

The candidate must have solid experience with at least one programming language, preferably Go, but familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar languages is acceptable.
Some experience in delivering projects from gathering requirements to shipping a product to customers in a self-driven manner is required.
The candidate should have experience developing software that runs in the Cloud or experience with systems engineering.
Experience in writing clean, robust, and performant software that is easily maintained by others is necessary.
Nice to haves include experience working with Kubernetes, being a user of Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles, exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems, and familiarity with being on-call and performing operations/SRE tasks.

The base compensation range for this role in Spain is EUR 78,000 - EUR 97,000, with actual compensation varying based on level, experience, and skillset.
