Description:

• The position is for a Senior Backend Engineer focused on databases at Tempo, a remote role available for candidates in Spain.
• Tempo is an open-source distributed tracing backend that is user-friendly, scalable, and integral to Grafana Enterprise Traces.
• The team is responsible for creating and operating distributed systems for tracing ingestion and queries, developing TraceQL, and building the metrics-generator.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have solid experience with at least one programming language, preferably Go, but familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar is acceptable.

• Candidates should have experience with software development in the Cloud or systems engineering.
• Experience in writing clean, robust, and maintainable software is essential.
• Nice to have skills include experience with Kubernetes, using Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles, exposure to microservices architecture, and familiarity with on-call operations or infrastructure as code.
