Remote Senior Backend Engineer, Docs

Description:

• ClickUp is seeking a driven software engineer to join their Docs team as a Senior Software Engineer.
• The role involves designing and delivering scalable distributed shared services used by other engineering teams.
• Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining API endpoints, services, and workers that support new features on the roadmap.
• The engineer will write efficient and concise SQL queries for app usage, reporting data metrics, and managing data integrity within databases.
• Identifying and troubleshooting errors and performance issues within the infrastructure is a key part of the job.
• Participation in designing and building systems for maximum performance, reliability, and scalability is expected.
• The role requires close collaboration with frontend, quality assurance, and product teams.
• The engineer should be able to conceptualize the various parts of the infrastructure and their interconnections.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
• Candidates must have 8+ years of experience writing and maintaining APIs in a production-level environment, preferably with Node.js.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, is necessary.
• Experience with AWS or another cloud service is required.
• The ideal candidate should be a strong self-starter, operationally-focused, and a problem-solver.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential.
• Desirable qualifications include experience with large scale processing and designing real-time collaboration systems.
