Remote Senior Backend Engineer

Description:

• As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Big Health, you will play a crucial role in developing systems for the digital therapeutics platform, focusing on Sleepio for insomnia, Daylight for anxiety, and Spark Direct for depression.
• You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data analysts to enhance systems and apps for internal stakeholders and patients.
• Your responsibilities will include architecting and implementing backend services that meet healthcare and business needs, influencing technology decisions, and mentoring other engineers.
• You will work on data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques using relational databases like PostgreSQL and columnar databases like BigQuery.
• Big Health is a remote-first company, and this position can be based anywhere in the US.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in building and shipping backend services and systems.
• 4+ years of experience developing applications and services in Python or other Object-Oriented Programming Languages.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, product, and business stakeholders.
• Experience deploying and operating services in a cloud environment such as GCP or AWS.
• Knowledgeable about data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques with hands-on experience in relational and columnar databases.
