Description:

The Senior Backend Software Engineer will be a critical member of the Calm Engineering Team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems for mobile and web applications.
The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, defining project scope, and developing technical specifications.
The engineer will lead the development and implementation of complex backend features and services, including RESTful APIs secured by RBAC.
Responsibilities include writing high-quality, well-documented code, ensuring high test coverage, and implementing backend features with monitoring for system errors and performance issues.
The engineer will stay updated on the latest backend technologies and contribute to CI/CD pipelines to optimize deployment workflows.
The position also involves mentoring and training software engineers to foster a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
Requirements:
A minimum of 8 years of related experience is typically required for this role.
A BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is necessary.
Experience with GoLang, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GCP/GKE, and relational databases/SQL is required.
Proven experience in REST API-based microservices design is essential.
Candidates should have experience working effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment as part of a collaborative team.
Strong communication skills are necessary to convey technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests in a CI/CD environment is required.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Benefits:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $154,500 - $259,700, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
