Remote Senior Backend Engineer, ElasticSearch

Description:

• Calendly is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep technical know-how and architectural wisdom to join their Engineering team.
• The role involves supporting features and architecture to maintain user confidence in Calendly.
• Responsibilities include building new features, scaling the platform and architecture, and creating tooling and automation for the delivery process.
• The engineer will work with technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, ElasticSearch, NodeJS, React, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Daily tasks include collaborating with the team on high-impact features, contributing to platform scaling, meeting with Product and Design teams, attending agile ceremonies, improving engineering practices, reviewing implementation plans, and mentoring team members.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of Software Development experience at a SaaS or technology company.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with ElasticSearch, Typescript, and Node is required.
• Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) or microservices is necessary.
• A strong drive to craft clean, reliable, and maintainable code is essential.
• Candidates must be available for on-call rotation to respond to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours.
