Description:

  • As a Senior Backend Software Engineer on the Gameday team at GameChanger, you will be responsible for enhancing and iterating on features within the backend codebase using modern tools.
  • You will collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA Analysts, and Engineers to develop engaging user-facing features.
  • Leading projects within the Gameday team, you will work on areas such as live video streaming, scorekeeping, fan experiences, and team management.
  • Your role will involve developing and maintaining scalable, robust, and efficient backend services.
  • You will drive changes to the API and SDK to improve server/client communication and collaborate on architectural decisions to ensure efficiency as the backend codebase expands.
  • Additionally, you will focus on enhancing system performance, reliability, scalability, and developing new features while ensuring system security and data privacy compliance.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will translate requirements into technical solutions, participate in code reviews, and create technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in a software development role.
  • 4+ years of experience with Node.js or another backend technology.
  • 1+ years of experience leading and implementing complex designs.
  • Experience scaling a codebase to a large number of users and engineers.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript is preferred.
  • Strong background in writing scalable, performant server-side code.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring engineers.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and clear communication skills.
  • Enjoyment in fostering a collaborative atmosphere to solve complex problems.
