Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Grafana Ops, Alerting (Remote, US/Canada)

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer will be part of the Grafana Alerting squad, working on the core of the Grafana open-source project to provide users with a comprehensive way to manage their alerts.
• Responsibilities include building distributed systems to scale alert ingestion and delivery, unifying alert setup and delivery for Grafana and Prometheus-based alerts, and scaling alert evaluation for Grafana-managed alerts.
• The role involves influencing the roadmap, delivering new features, driving projects from ideation to operations, contributing to open-source projects, designing and maintaining critical systems, participating in on-call rotations, mentoring team members, and learning new skills.
• The position requires an independent attitude and good communication skills due to the remote-first nature of the engineering organization.

Requirements:

• Solid experience with at least one programming language, preferably Go, but familiarity with Python, Java, C++, Rust, or similar is acceptable.
• Some experience in delivering projects from requirements gathering to product shipping in a self-driven manner.
• Experience with developing software for the Cloud or systems engineering.
• Ability to write clean, robust, and performant software that is easily maintainable by others.
