Description:

ClickUp is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Hierarchy Squad in Bulgaria.
The role involves building and optimizing tier 1 services that are central to ClickUp’s productivity platform.
The Hierarchy team is responsible for the ClickUp filesystem, which is foundational for all engineering efforts.
Responsibilities include building features and systems with a focus on detail and performance, owning end-to-end development from conception to production, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a world-class product.
The engineer will identify and implement improvements to existing systems and help establish a positive engineering culture.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in engineering performant and high-throughput systems, preferably using Node.js.
Proficiency in writing high-quality code, ideally in TypeScript, is essential.
A proven track record of building performant, high-throughput systems is necessary.
Experience in writing and debugging SQL queries at scale is required.
Candidates should have experience developing event-based systems and familiarity with major cloud services, ideally AWS.
Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity while delivering projects with minimal direction are important.
A product-minded approach with a good intuition for user experience is expected.
