Remote Senior Backend Engineer, Hierarchy

Description:

• ClickUp is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Hierarchy Squad in Poland.
• The role involves building and optimizing tier 1 services that are central to ClickUp’s productivity platform.
• The engineer will be responsible for the ClickUp filesystem, which is foundational for all engineering efforts at ClickUp.
• Responsibilities include building features and systems with a focus on detail and performance, owning end-to-end development from conception to production, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a world-class product.
• The engineer will also identify and implement improvements to existing systems and help establish a positive engineering culture.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
• Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in engineering performant and high-throughput systems, ideally using Node.js.
• Proficiency in writing high-quality code, preferably in TypeScript, is essential.
• A proven track record of building performant, high-throughput systems is necessary.
• Experience in writing and debugging SQL queries at scale is required.
• Candidates should have experience developing event-based systems.
• Familiarity with major cloud services, ideally AWS, is expected.
• Strong communication skills and empathy are important for this role.
• Candidates should be comfortable with ambiguity and have a history of delivering projects with minimal direction.
• A product-minded approach and a good intuition for user experience are essential.
