Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Hunt

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer will be responsible for building scalable services to support new features and products for the onX suite of apps.
• They will write unit, integration, and acceptance tests to ensure the quality of the services.
• Participation in architectural decisions involving services and collaboration with team members and stakeholders is essential.
• The engineer will lead by example, embodying the company values, and leverage existing onX services.
• Being part of an on-call schedule to support backend services after work hours is required.
• The position can be performed from an onX corporate office, "Basecamp," or "Connection Hub."

Requirements:

• Minimum of eight (8) years of professional software development experience, with at least three (3) years focusing on API development.
• Experience in building and debugging distributed, scalable microservices architecture.
• Ability to evaluate technologies based on merit, stability, performance, and debugging capabilities.
• Proficiency in modern API and systems design and development, with a strong computer science foundation.
• Advocacy for customer experience, willingness to mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with a distributed team.
• Strong coding skills, ownership mindset, and a drive for continuous improvement.
